Dancing with the stars (1st dance and dance classes)
When dancing with the stars first aired, I was one of those people who tuned in. As I watched the stars learn to dance and get eliminated, I began daydreaming of my self one day doing a fierce tango or cha cha. Fast forward a couple years, at a bridal event, maid J and I wandered around looking at vendors and we came across Arthur Murray Dance Studios. They had videos playing and if you filled out your info you could win free lessons. So maid J and I filled them out and ventured on in our bridal event journey. Couple of weeks later I got a call we had won two free private lessons.
Well, since I’m on the tightest budget in the world, I jumped for the chance and signed us up. Today was our last session, and let me tell you we had a BLAST! Our instructor, Amy, was great and she taught us a lot. We didn’t really know anything about dancing and we didn’t want our first dance to be like out of our high school dance memories. Amy asked what our first dance song was and found the perfect dance called the foxy. Our first session we learned some basic steps and holds, then this class we learned promenades and THE dip. Learning to dance was a great workout and it helped me break in those wedding shoes too (it was fine for the future Mr. to see them). If you are thinking about learning a dance for your first dance, or even for your dad and daughter dance, I would highly recommend taking a class or two. It was a lot of fun and well worth it. I might be going back closer to our wedding for a refresher. Speaking of which, we are in double digits today, and I’m so excited it came up so fast!
