Get your HD video on a Blue Ray disc

Was having a conversation with one of my customers, Ken from Wedding Connections. He explained something to my that I didn’t know, so I thought I’d pass it along. He said that if you are having your wedding video shot in High Definition, or HD, the only way you will be able to view it in HD is if it is burned onto a Blue Ray disc. I guess some videographers are offering HD, but not providing it on a Blue Ray disc, so the finished product is only standard definition. There is special equipment that is needed to put video onto a Blue Ray disc and not everyone has invested in it. I found this interesting as some video companies are offering HD as an incentive to book and may not have the equipment to truly provide the end product. I’d be interested to find out if anyone has run into this issue.
